I laughed。 I cried。 and I was left breathless by the beauty of the characters, the world, the very magic written into the words of this book--which I suspect is far stronger than any miphate spell ever cast。

Quick and fun and utterly sweet。 Loving this series of stolen bride stories。

This is the kind of story I live for! I love enemies to lovers and the tension between these two as well as obstacles they faced kept me on edge just waiting for things to work out。 I loved the magical worlds and the writing was superb, making this shorter story feel full-bodied。 This was my first time reading this author, but she definitely won me over! Sylvia Mercedes' worldbuilding is one of the things I love best about her books。 I was thrilled to see that this book would add more to it and reveal the hinted and hidden story we'd glimpsed in her Mage world so far。 A nice work on the enemies turned lovers trope。 I have to admit I didn't quite expect the way it happened。 Dasyra reminded me of the characters of the Venatrix Chronicles a little but it was different as well。 I didn't expect the Fatebound thing and it definitely did add urgency to Sylvia Mercedes' worldbuilding is one of the things I love best about her books。 I was thrilled to see that this book would add more to it and reveal the hinted and hidden story we'd glimpsed in her Mage world so far。 A nice work on the enemies turned lovers trope。 I have to admit I didn't quite expect the way it happened。 Dasyra reminded me of the characters of the Venatrix Chronicles a little but it was different as well。 I didn't expect the Fatebound thing and it definitely did add urgency to the pacing! I still prefer the pacing of her earlier books, though, albeit it's a strictly subjective thing。 I do wish this book had had the time and space for more expansive development but I suspect Ms Mercedes had to work within some limitations - and the book worked for me anyway。King Lodirhal and his methods of solving his problems made me smile。 They were such an odd couple, he and Dasyra。 I sympathize with his shock at finding out that they WERE a couple。 Watching them fall in love was certainly amusing - and the book wouldn't have worked half as well for me if it had failed to include Kyriakos and his schemes!Overall, another success in my book for Sylvia Mercedes。 I'll be waiting for more, albeit hoping the new books would be in the earlier, more expansive formats。 The more to read, the better! 。。。more

Dasyra and Lodirhal's story is yet another entry in the list of "Why Sylvia Mercedes is my favorite author"。 I swear each time I think she couldn't possibly top her previous books she goes and proves me wrong。 Stolen Mage Bride is no exception。 First let me say that I adore the world she's created throughout her books, though you absolutely don't have to be familiar with it to fully enjoy this book。 Her Miphate's are so interesting and I love the little homages to her other books that she includ Dasyra and Lodirhal's story is yet another entry in the list of "Why Sylvia Mercedes is my favorite author"。 I swear each time I think she couldn't possibly top her previous books she goes and proves me wrong。 Stolen Mage Bride is no exception。 First let me say that I adore the world she's created throughout her books, though you absolutely don't have to be familiar with it to fully enjoy this book。 Her Miphate's are so interesting and I love the little homages to her other books that she includes in this book。 So, to my review。 If I could have any criticism it's that I wish their story had spread over multiple books so I could enjoy it for longer。 Dasyra is such a wonderful heroine - a beautiful contradiction between her love for growing things and the elite warrior spirit that possesses her。 And Lodirhal is the cold, heartless fae Mercedes always includes - a conquerer with little regard for human life until he meets an unusul Miphata。 I love that we got to see both points of view throughout this story and how these two reluctantly Fatebonded beings slowly came to see the beauty in their partner。 It wasn't rushed, but neither was it dragged out too long。 The pacing, as always, was perfect。Oh yeah, Kyriakos is awful。 Like always。 。。。more

I enjoyed this story so much! Though the story starts slow it picks up the pace quickly。 I was fascinated by the world building and the dynamics of the fated love situation。 If there was one thing I would have loved more of in this book, it would have been more time spent on the trials Dasyra and Lodirhal had to go through as I feel it would have given us more time to see and really feel their feelings grow。 With this being a short story I totally get needing to gloss over some of the trials to I enjoyed this story so much! This book gets off to a slower start than most of Mercedes’ books。 This is important to establish the context for the conflict between the H/H。 Because Lodirhal, the hero, is in a losing situation, he is acting more defensively than offensively。 We need to see how dire his position is to truly grasp the shock of him meeting his fated bride, who happens to be the vessel for the spirit of one of his people’s biggest and most deadly enemies。 Once Dasyra, our heroine, enters, the pace kicks up。 She This book gets off to a slower start than most of Mercedes’ books。 This is important to establish the context for the conflict between the H/H。 Because Lodirhal, the hero, is in a losing situation, he is acting more defensively than offensively。 We need to see how dire his position is to truly grasp the shock of him meeting his fated bride, who happens to be the vessel for the spirit of one of his people’s biggest and most deadly enemies。 Once Dasyra, our heroine, enters, the pace kicks up。 She is brave but not a warrior, so the conflict she feels in channeling such a bloodthirsty spirit is heartrending。 We see cultures and characters from previous books that add layers to the story。 I’m looking forward to more stories with Kyriakos。Once again Mercedes creates a non-human creature that adds a tender, lovely aspect to the story。 I can’t remember another author who has brought me smiles and tears when reading about paper wyverns with a bad wing (Scarred Mage of Roseward) and Respenia blossoms (this book)。 I highly recommend this book。 It’s a great balance of desperation, anger, love and humor。 Since it is a stand alone novel, the relationship is not a slow burn。 We don’t have to wait several books before they admit their attraction and act on it。 。。。more

I could not stop reading this book。 I found it so enthralling, especially when I made the connection to the Roseward books。 Lodirhal and Dasyra are such strong characters; I love the way Sylvia alternates the chapters between their point of view as to what is happening, while still maintaining a sequence of action。 There's a villian to hate too, who'll remain nameless in this review as you need to discover that! She was able to keep you in suspense, with a little love and action mixed in。 This book brought together two people that couldn’t have been so different from each other, that were perfect for each other。 Read this book in one sitting because I was so captivated。 Another great read from Sylvia!

This was a solid read。 An elf king meets his fated mate on a field of battle。 He then kidnaps her, and takes her on an epic adventure to try to break the bond。 I love the pair's skittish, almost nervous interactions with each other on the journey, as they struggle to keep the bond from "taking"。 And, oh my gosh, the Shakespearean ending almost brought a tear to my eye。 *I received an ARC from the author, in exchange for an honest review*。 This was a solid read。 An elf king meets his fated mate on a field of battle。 He then kidnaps her, and takes her on an epic adventure to try to break the bond。 I love the pair's skittish, almost nervous interactions with each other on the journey, as they struggle to keep the bond from "taking"。 And, oh my gosh, the Shakespearean ending almost brought a tear to my eye。 *I received an ARC from the author, in exchange for an honest review*。 。。。more
